Why we started

Every year around 3.1 million children die due to poor nutrition caused by inedequate food supply. This equates to roughly 8,500 children every day. With malnutrition contributing to almost half of the deaths of kids under the age of 5 across the world.

Hungry children have difficulty focusing in the classroom or learning new skills, this making it harder for them to do well in school and get a job to be able to provide for their family.

Here at Nyhet Apparel we believe every kid, no matter what their circumstances should be given an equal chance in life. No child should ever be held back by factors such as hunger pains or malnutrition.

Food poverty doesn't just affect third world countries as many would suspect. In Australia, one in every five go to school hungry. In America, one in every six do not know when they will receive their next meal. And in the UK, one in every three child suffer from food poverty.
